Passenger in Waymo self-driving car gets stuck circling parking lot while trying to make flight

A man from Los Angeles is trying to get home Phoenix metro area Waymo got a little confused on the drive to the airport.
“Okay, why is this happening to me on Monday?” asked Mike Jones in a video he filmed while in a self-driving car in Scottsdale, Ariz.
The video shows how the car connects to Waymo’s help.
“I’ve received a notification that your vehicle may be experiencing problems with the routing,” the customer service agent is heard saying to Jones.

“I have a flight to catch, why is this thing going around? I’m getting dizzy,” he replies. He then tells the agent that he was wearing his seat belt and “can’t get out of the car.”
“Is this broken? What’s going on?” he asks. “I feel like I’m in a movie. Is someone kidding me?”

The incident occurred on Dec. 9, Waymo told FOX Business, adding that a subsequent software update addressed the issue.
The letter said Jones was only 5 minutes late and the car was able to get him to his destination after the rider’s support team successfully stopped the car from spinning.

When Jones shared the video on social media, he wrote that Waymo’s “customer service is automated and led by AI”.
Waymo said they tried to contact him and left a voicemail to follow up. Jones was also not charged for the ride Alphabet Inc.– added owning company.
Jones’ post says he’ll be keeping it old fashioned and just #Lyft or #Uber from now on.
