A wildfire raging in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles has forced tens of thousands of people to evacuate as it burned homes in the bustling area, including homes owned by celebrities.

Driven by strong Santa Ana winds, the Palisades Fire started Tuesday morning in the Santa Monica Mountains and quickly covered 200 acres within an hour, reaching nearly 3,000 acres by sunset. FOX Weather reported.

Orange County Fire Chief Brian Fennessy joined “Fox News @ Night” Tuesday to give an update on how firefighters are battling the fast-moving flames, but said there’s not much that can be done to stop them, so crews are focused . evacuation and rescue of everyone still in the area.

“Our main focus is getting people out of these fires,” Fennessy said. “There’s not much we can do other than get people out of the way of these fires and then try to attack them … certainly in the Palisades, that’s the story today.”

Reality show star Spencer Pratt and his wife Heidi Montag, who started dating on The Hills, lost their home. Palisades firePratt and Montag confirmed on their Snapchat accounts on Tuesday.

In a series of videos, Pratt showed how quickly the fire moved over the hill toward their home.

“Well, it doesn’t look good,” Pratt said as he filmed the fire on the mountain behind their home. “That’s the first time I’ve seen flames come up. Whoa, man. Well, I guess I’ll go pack my stuff.”

Later, he recorded the video from his car of watching their house burn on their security cameras.

Montag posted a video at a grocery store saying their house was on fire but that they were safe.

Actor Chris Pratt X, asking people to join him in praying for the “brave firefighters who sacrifice so much to save our homes and our city.”

“Jesus saves the lives of those fighting the fire and those unable to evacuate,” Pratt wrote.

Actress Denise Crosby also said in a post on X that she was safe with her husband and dog, but was not sure if her home was.

Crosby shared a video from the beach Tuesday night and followed that post with videos from earlier in the day showing smoke near the alley behind her home and from Sunset Boulevard.

Actor James Woods has released a series of videos showing his home and his neighbors’ homes engulfed in smoke and flames at X. Woods said her family was safely evacuated from the area and praised first responders and community members for evacuating children from elementary schools. within the neighborhood.

“To all the wonderful people who contacted us, thank you for being so concerned. Just letting you know that we were able to successfully evacuate,” Woods wrote on X. “I don’t know if we have a house right now. It’s still standing, but unfortunately the houses on our little street are not.”

Professional dancer Derek Hough shared photos of the fire on his Instagram account and said that he and his wife were preparing to evacuate with their pets.

“Winds are gusting to 100 miles per hour and we are packing up, preparing to evacuate with our five animals JUST IN CASE,” Hough wrote. “Explosion of power lines and rapid spread of fires around us is scary.”

Hough continued her post by thanking firefighters for “risking everything to keep us safe,” and said she was sending prayers and love to all the firefighters and victims.
