Syrian Foreign Minister Asad Al-Shibani said he hoped to open a “new, bright page” in bilateral relations during his first official visit to Saudi Arabia after the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad. Syria’s new leaders have focused on rebuilding their war-torn country amid Saudi concerns about the smuggling of captago, a drug produced in large quantities during the Assad regime.
