Former Australian opener David Warner has taken a big step by officially registering for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) draft 10. David Warner will enter the Pakistan Super League draft for the first time since his ban, and this has sent the cricketing community on social media into a frenzy.

Warner, who had turned down an offer to play in the Pakistan Super League in 2019, has now registered for the PSL 10 draft, which will be held on January 11 in Balochistan. This move comes after Warner went unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction in November last year despite having a base price of Rs 2 crore.

On December 31, the official PSL account on X (formerly Twitter) announced the exciting news that David Warner had officially registered for the PSL draft.

David Warner is considered a T20 legend, having scored 3,277 runs in 110 T20Is at an average of 33.43 and a strike rate of 142.47, with 28 half-centuries and a highest score of 100 not out go out The left-handed batsman has scored 12,540 runs in 389 T20s at an average of 36.66 and a strike rate of 140.15.

David Warner Unsold in IPL 2025 Mega Auction

David Warner was registered in the IPL 2025 auction at a base price of Rs 2 crore but was not sold after a poor IPL 2024 season where he scored just 168 runs with a fifty for Delhi Capitals. Warner remains the highest overseas run-scorer in IPL history with 6,565 runs, including four centuries and 62 fifties.

Warner’s IPL journey began with Delhi Capitals (then Delhi Daredevils) in 2009, where he played till 2014. He was acquired by SRH in 2014, made captain in 2015 and led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) to his first IPL title in 2016. However, his tenure with SRH ended badly during the 2021 IPL season.

The 38-year-old currently plays for Sydney Thunder in the 2024/25 Big Bash League and could become a regular in the Pakistan Super League in the coming years.

David Warner is Australia’s second highest run-scorer in all formats

David Warner has amassed 18,995 runs in 383 international matches across formats, including 49 centuries and 98 half-centuries. He is behind Ricky Ponting (27,368) in most runs for Australia. Warner’s last appearance for Australia was in the 2024 T20 World Cup, where he was eliminated in the Super 8.

He is a three-time World Cup winner, having claimed titles in the 2015 and 2023 ODI World Cups and the 2021 T20 World Cup. Currently, Warner has been part of the commentary panel for the ongoing 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia.
