PM Modi hosts US Vice President Vance, hails ‘fruitful’ talks and trade progress
Prime Minister Naryidra Modine hosted the United States Vice President JD Vance, along with senior members of his children’s and US administration, at the official residence of New Delhi.
The two leaders reviewed and positively assessed progress in various areas of bilateral cooperation. They welcomed significant progress in the negotiations for the India-US bilateral trade agreement, noting that it focuses on the well-being of the people of the two countries.
“The Prime Minister with gladly reminded his visit to Washington DC in January and President Trump, which defines the roadmap for close cooperation between India and the United States, the Prime Minister’s office reports.
In addition to trade, Prime Minister Modly and Vice President Vens confessed to the continuing strategic partnership, including energy, protection and leading technologies.
They also exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual interest, emphasizing that dialogue and diplomacy should be the principles of guidance of international challenges.
Modi conveyed its greetings to US President Donald Trump and expressed excitement for his visit to India at the end of this year. “The Prime Minister conveyed his warm greetings to President Trump and said that the visit of India is waiting for India at the end of this year,” the statement said.
The meeting comes at once, when US President Donald Trump has forced, then stopped tariffs for imports of more than 70 countries from 70 countries, including India. India and the United States are actively negotiating an agreement on bilateral trade to increase the access to the market.
High-level discussions between Modi and Vance are considered a wider video for stabilizing and deepening economic ties, especially since both countries seek to equate strategic interests.
Minister of Finance Nirala Sitarama announced that India is “actively involved” with the United States and hopes to conclude the first tranche of the bilateral trade agreement until the fall (September-October).
“We are one of the countries that are actively involved in the new US administration to see how we can best make a bilateral trade agreement,” he said during cooperation with the Indian Diaspora in San Francisco.
