Prime Video has a lot to offer horror fans, from classics like American Psycho to newer releases like Abigail. Ads are now part of streaming servicebut if you prefer to watch your ghost content without ad interruptions, you can pay an additional fee to remove them.

Here are some highly rated horror movies to satisfy your cravings. Dim the lights, grab the popcorn and enjoy your spooky feature.

Wild, terrifying and very funny, this horror film follows a group of kidnappers – including a woman played by Melissa Barrera – who discover too late that their young captor is far from helpless.

A Quiet Place: Day One (2024)

Aliens who kill based on sound inhabited the worlds of the post-apocalyptic horror films A Quiet Place and A Quiet Place Part II. This prequel, written and directed by Michael Sarnoski (John Krasinski helmed the originals), sees the creatures invade New York and stars Lupita Nyong’o and Joseph Quinn.

In case you haven’t yet met well-heeled investment banker Patrick Bateman, it’s time to get out your business card and get acquainted. Elements of black comedy, thriller and horror are on display in this late 80s satire starring Christian Bale as a wealthy young professional with murderous hobbies.

Jordan Peele and Nia DaCosta star in this gripping slasher. A sequel to the 1992 film of the same name, Candyman tackles issues such as gentrification and police brutality. Get ready for blood, swarming bees and people making the ill-fated decision to recite Candyman’s name in front of the mirror. Candyman is available to watch for free with ads.

If you like your horror movies sprinkled with a bit of contemporary dance (and who wouldn’t!), then Suspiria is definitely the one for you. It tells the story of a supernatural dance academy run by a group of witches and includes themes such as motherhood, guilt and abuse of power. An homage to the original 1977 film, Suspiria starring Dakota Johnson and Tilda Swinton.

Coherence is a a huge favorite here at CNET and it’s a terrifying watch. Not necessarily in the traditional, gory, gruesome sense, but more in terms of concepts. It’s a multiverse movie released before multiverses were cool, and it’s not what you expect. Coherence is the kind of movie you’ll finish and immediately watch again to try to rewire your brain. This is a fantastic achievement and one to watch.
