At least 4 people were killed as a result of a Russian drone and a missile attack on the capital of Ukraine.
Timur Tkachenko, the head of the military administration of Kyiv, said that the attack took place in Shevchenkivsky district in the center of the city on Saturday morning.
“Stay in shelters,” Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said in a Telegram post on Saturday morning. A few hours ago, he warned about the “ballistic missile threat” against the capital and stated that the air defense system was operating around the city.
According to the mayor, windows were broken in the Shevchenkivskiy district, including at the entrance of the closed “Lukianivska” metro station.

According to local governor Ivan Fedorov, Russian forces “attacked” the center of Zaporozhye on Saturday, and two people were injured. According to him, the administrative building of the industrial facility was partially damaged.

Al Jazeera’s Jonah Hull, reporting from Kiev, said the blasts were heard at around 6am (0400 GMT), “echoing a volley of anti-aircraft fire, with air signals indicating both a ballistic missile and drone threat”.
He saw smoke coming from the apartment building.
Earlier that day, the Ukrainian Air Force said it had destroyed 24 drones and two ballistic missiles launched in the same attack.
Ukrainian counterattacks
A rare vacation comes to the heart of the Ukrainian capital in the midst of a boom Ukrainian airstrikes about Russia’s energy and military facilities in recent months.
The Ukrainian military recently carried out two major strikes on several Russian oil depots, including one near a military airfield in Russia’s Saratov region, causing fires that continued for days.
Vladislav Shapsha, the regional governor, said that an attack by a Ukrainian drone on Lyudinovo in the Kaluga region of Russia on Friday evening caused a fire in an industrial facility.
In a video posted on unofficial Russian social media sites, fire engines can be seen speeding towards a large fire in what they say is an oil storage facility in the city. Losses are not reported.
