‘Syrian first’: Alawite community refuses to pay for Assad’s crimes

A month after the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime, the Alawite minority, which plays the role of a pillar of the regime in Syria, fears a witch hunt. In Tartus, their stronghold, community members say they too suffered from the bloody oppression of the former dictator.
