Read the obituary of Aubrey Plaza’s late husband, Jeff Baena

“It is with deep sorrow and sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Jeff Baena, a beloved son, husband, brother, uncle and friend to many,” said Baena’s obituary, which was published in Miami Heraldread it. “Jeff left us far too soon, but despite his woefully too short life, he left us with precious memories of a talented filmmaker and a very special person on so many different levels.”
While the obituary honored Baen for his contributions to the entertainment industry, those close to him shared how he discovered his passion for film, which he “fell in love with” when he was “11 years old, watching Clockwork orange and Fellini 8 1/2.”
“Each of his films reflects a carefully constructed balance of the logical and the implausible. His juxtaposition of intelligence and creativity challenged us. He embraced independent filmmaking because of his abiding distaste for institutional fences for creativity,” the report said. “Those who have worked with him praise his vision, taste, technical competence and ability to unite actors into an ensemble that plays in perfect harmony. There was always a family atmosphere. He loved nature and in his films always and wherever it was possible, he emphasized it cinematographically.
In addition to the work he did extensively with the Plaza, Baena also “loved the company of his friends.”
“Jeff was a true relationship builder with a gift for bringing people together on and off set,” the obit said. “His magic sauce ensured that everyone had fun, and no one ever left his gatherings as a stranger.”
Baena’s obituary also revealed that he also had an affinity for romance, The little princeand included a touching quote from a favorite children’s book.

“When he was a boy, Jeff loved to read The little prince Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. Ironically, in it, the Little Prince exclaims, “I don’t have much time.” I need to find friends and learn a lot.’ It was the same with Jeff,” the report says.
Baena is survived by Plaza, his parents, siblings, nephews and nieces.
“We will always love Jeff and miss him dearly,” the obituary concluded. “His presence, as well as his work, made the world a better place. He had a lot more to offer. Unfortunately, it’s all gone. Sweet dreams, our Little Prince.”
Baena is dead He was 47 years old on January 3. According to the medical examiner’s records reviewed by Us Weeklya Baena official cause of death considered a suicide. After news broke of Baena’s death, a Plaza representative published a statement on her behalf.
“This is an unimaginable tragedy,” the statement said us to read “We are very grateful to everyone who has shown support. Please respect our privacy at this time.”
