DNC hires former Harris staff behind @KamalaHQ to respond to Trump on social media

The Democratic National Committee has hired the social media staff that ran the @KamalaHQ account during Vice President Kamala Harris’ failed presidential campaign.

The social team will now focus on building the new @FactPostNews brand Democratic Party Between X, Threads and Bluesky, with plans to expand to Facebook, Instagram, TikTok. The account will try to counter the “misinformation” of President-elect Trump’s administration in real time.

“The Republican disinformation machine is powerful, but we believe the stronger weapon is giving people the facts about how Trump and his administration are mocking the American people,” DNC chief mobilization officer Shelby Cole told Axios.

The DNC did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment Monday morning.

According to Axios, the team’s first marching orders will be to pursue the confirmation process for Trump’s Cabinet nominees, meaning highlighting his personal wealth. An internal memo called the candidates “unfit billionaire picks.”

The new initiative comes as Democrats are reassessing their election strategy after Trump’s victory in November.

On NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Schumer questioned Democratic strategist James Carville’s claim that “Meet the Press” was the reason Democrats lost.economy, idiot.”

“I told my members and I’ll say it here … of course it was a loss, but it’s also a problem,” Schumer said of the election.

Schumer said Democrats faced “heavy headwinds” to win four of the seven contested Democratic Senate seats, though “we did some things wrong and we have to look in the mirror and see what we did wrong.”

“What we’re going to do is talk to working families, show them how much we care,” Schumer said. “And not just about the legislation, but about the conditions that make many working families worried about their future.”
