The Brown family patriarch has reportedly been absent from Truely’s life since Christine’s split

As soon as the marriage was consummated, Truly moved in with her mother in Flagstaff, Arizona, making it clear whose side she was on. After her move, insiders revealed in 2022 that her father also refused to be involved in her life. According to the source:
“Basically, he’s not in Trully’s life. Cody isn’t going anywhere. Christine should take Cody.”
The source added that Cody is still “paranoid about COVID and everything. So if Christine doesn’t choose the transportation and provide it—and she doesn’t put Trully through that stress—then Cody won’t have a relationship. He had to leave his nest to see his daughter.”

Inside, Christine and Cody are in a heated custody battle

Cody’s decision to stay out of his daughter’s life due to fear of COVID and other factors has reportedly become troubling for Christine.
Explosion reported that the TV host responded by suing her ex-husband to establish paternity of their daughter Trui. Cody was not listed on her birth certificate and Trully moved in with Christine in Utah in 2021.
Christine also filed for a domestic relations restraining order, which would have limited any form of harassment, domestic violence, or modification of essential services outside of mutual consent or court order.
The document would prevent Cody and Christine from taking their children on unusual trips without permission or publicly saying nasty things about the other side, if allowed.
Christine was convinced that moving in with True would protect Cody Brown’s bond with her
Interestingly, Christine claimed that being away would only make Trully’s heart grow fonder of her father, so moving in with her might not be such a terrible idea.
The mom of six explained that her move to Utah in 2021 with True helped keep her and Cody’s relationship healthy. She added that really not being around Cody’s bad side in real time goes a long way in saving the rest of their bond.
The family matriarch, whose strained relationships with her children and ex-wives remain memorable, called Christine’s defense “BS rationalization” and “ridiculous”.

Christine Brown has described her estranged husband as ‘reckless and inconsiderate’
At the end of last year, Christine accepted a radio interview where she was asked to describe her ex-husband in three words.
The TLC star chose a pretty interesting choice of words to name her baby daddy. She declared: “Dead dad… Sorry, that’s two, but it could be two,” she said, before adding: “Dead dad and… not paying attention.”
The mother-of-six was accompanied by her ex-wife, sister Janelle Brown, who was surprised by her answer and offered a different perspective.
Janelle described her husband as “charismatic” and tried to convince a very angry Christine to understand where she was coming from.
At the end of their exchange, Janelle finally agreed with Christine’s point of view and noted that Cody is also selfish, oblivious and acting like “reality surprises him.”
Will Christine Brown and Cody Brown find a way around their complicated custody battle that has now escalated into divorce proceedings? Time will tell!
