At CES 2025, companies asked, “What if we combined every front door security device into one?” The answer from companies like Lockly and TCL was a do-it-all smart video lock.which could become the main home security device in the coming years.

These devices can automatically lock doors, allow remote opening, and let you send passes to friends or family, like smart locks. They can also recognize people with high-definition cameras and allow you to talk through two-way audio as video ringtones. And they have built-in smart display capabilities, so you can see right through the door to see who’s there without the need for a peephole or phone.

Lockly’s version, the Vision Prestige, proved particularly impressive with its touch keyboard, fingerprint recognition and compatibility with Apple devices straight out of the box. At $500, it will also be very expensive when it launches later this year.
